From the age of 15, Tunde Oyeneyin started working as an assistant manager at a restaurant called Fuzzy’s Pizza. This work is as hard as if she were taking care of 4 children.

During the time Tunde Oyeneyin worked as a cycling instructor in her first studio cycling class in 2019, she was noticed by a Peloton Cycling Director who is Cody Rigsby – a talent scout based in Peloton. Cody was very impressed with Tunde Oyeneyin’s teaching style, so he sent letters directly to her and requested auditions and casting via Instagram DM.
It’s unfortunate that Tundi failed the first audition. However, Cody Rigsby immediately encouraged her to go for a second time. In her second audition, she was partnered with her colleague, Chelsea Jackson Roberts.
This second audition was filmed in support of the Black Lives Matter campaign. This 30-minute “Speak Up” class attracted 110,000 viewers by late July. In this video, Tunde was wearing a Peloton uniform inspired by Beyoncé’s performance at the 2013 Grammys.

The difficulty of Tundi Oyeneyin
When Tunde Oyeneyin was a child, she suffered criticism and body shaming from everyone. “I was always the biggest girl in my class growing up,” Oyeneyin told us. She was laughed at by her friends for she weighed 200 pounds and wore a size 18 when she was only 13 years old.
Thus, Tundi had low self-esteem and isolated herself. She revealed: “I remember knowing I was this fun person, but I would never laugh too hard. If I laughed hard, people would recognize I was in the room. I did want anyone to notice me. ”
The climax was at her aunt’s wedding when she could not choose a dress that fits her body as a bridesmaid. Her dress was torn, and Tunde’s mother had to make 2 separate dresses to make her a new one. This was when Tunde Oyeneyin realized she had to change.
