Former national team pursuit champion, Christian Lademann (Sparkasse-Etta Maes Antiques), joined an early break with a group of so-called "big fellas" that included "The Businessman" Mark McCormack (Colavita-Sutter Home), Fausto Munoz (Tecos), and 2005 Doylestown Crit winner, Mike Friedman (TIAA-CREF). The break, which occurred roughly six laps into the 55-lap race, faltered at first as the group sorted out strategies on how to stay in front. For more info, visit www.cyclingnews.com

I really didn't think today would be my day,” stated an ecstatic Snowsill. “I've been feeling really out of sorts this past week, and I have not been myself. I had no expectations for today. Colavita-Sutter Home changes management
Linden, NJ – August 23rd, 2006
By Mark Zalewski, North American Editor, Cyclingnews.
John Profaci, general manager of com the Colavita-Sutter Home men's cycling team, confirmed with Cyclingnews.com today that he will be making changes to the team management for next year. Tom Schuler and his Team Sports management company will be taking over the management of the team -- similar to his role on the counterpart women's Colavita-Cooking Light team when it merged with the Quark team after 2005. "Some things just didn't happen this year," Profaci said. "The idea is to bring the two teams together -- we just couldn't get them to mesh this year."
Profaci also said that Frank McCormack will stay on as director sportif of the men's team. "Frankie is so important to the team and Tom has a lot of respect for him," he said. The move will create a team structure modeled after Schuler's successful Saturn program that dominated domestic racing for twelve years, which Frank McCormack, as well as his brother Mark, were both a part.
Profaci said Schuler is in the beginning stages of talking to prospective riders for next year, using the criterium nationals as a starting point.
WHITMORE NO LEGS IN UTAH – IT’S ALL OR NOTHING FOR TAHOE
Snowbasin, UT - August 20, 2006
With her back against the wall in a must-win situation, McQuaid led from near wire-to-wire and ultimately finished more than four minutes in front of rival Jamie Whitmore. What that means is now when the two meet in Nevada on October 1 it will be a true head-to-head battle for the XTERRA U.S. Pro Series title. If McQuaid wins in Tahoe she's the champ, and likewise for Whitmore. BRING IT HOME JAMIE!! For more info, see www.triathletemag.com
