Felt Bicycles & Hurley Team Up to Create Limited Edition “Tres Nueves” Beach Cruiser

Lake Forest, CA, (January 31, 2006) – Felt Bicycles and Hurley are excited to announce a partnership on an all new ‘Tres Nueves’ beach cruiser bicycle.

When two businesses with the same commitment to making their products more of a lifestyle than a commodity work together, you can guarantee something cool will come out of it. That was a notion shared by Felt and Hurley designers who, having enjoyed similar roots in all the fun stuff most take for granted in Southern California, decided to design one of the hippest bicycles on the planet.
With its inaugural unveiling scheduled for April 2006 on Southern California’s most popular beaches, the Felt/Hurley ‘Tres Nueves’ cruiser, derived from the year in which the Hurley brand was launched, 1999; marries all that the two organizations are renowned for in its unique graphics and painstaking attention to detail. With inspiration from decades of music, art, surf and skate scenes, the frame, with its understated matte red oxide finish and reminiscent of 50’s era low-riders; is complemented by a chainguard featuring the traditional look of a printed paisley & skulls bandana - a distinct reference to the Mexican “Dia de los Muertos”. Completed by matte black and chrome accents, custom pin striping and white wall tires, the ‘Tres Nueves’ truly embraces an eclectic fusion of traditional So-Cal custom hot rods and celebration of Latino culture. To further enhance its uniqueness, each individual bike will feature a riveted, stamped metal “Limited Edition” badge incorporating an exclusive serial number.

Of the joint venture, Hurley president and founder, Bob Hurley, said “A cruiser is a natural part of our lifestyle – this is a great opportunity to work with an innovative company such as Felt Bicycles and create something incredibly fun in a limited edition for our friends. Enjoy!”

With a target retail price of MSRP $419 and expected to hit Felt’s nationwide dealer network in April 2006, the Felt/Hurley ‘Tres Nueves’ cruiser comes complete with Felt’s exclusive hydroformed tank frame design, Shimano single-speed coaster brake hub, super-wide Felt 50mm aluminum rims and heavy duty 12g stainless steel spokes. The bike will also feature a comfortable cruiser seat with embossed bandana artwork, a springer suspension fork, oversized machined aluminum front hub and custom bullet valve caps.
